Budget & Costs

Per-person ranges, cost drivers, inclusions and booking checks for the complete 14-day route.

Working budget · August 2025 prices

€1,275–1,865 per person

Fourteen days for two travellers sharing the driver and vehicle. The domestic Bishkek–Osh return flight is included; international flights are excluded.

Planning estimate from Musab's trip log—not a live supplier quote or a receipt-level spend report. Model reviewed for internal consistency on 20 July 2026; all amounts retain their August 2025 price basis.

Budget anatomy

Three layers build the working total

Separating the route core, variable spend and protected contingency makes clear what should be quoted, what can flex and what should remain unallocated.

Bookable route core
€1,055–1,465Driver and vehicle, stays, Kel-Suu permit estimate and the domestic return flight.
Variable route spend
€160–300Food beyond included meals and the activities used in this route model.
Protected contingency
€60–100A buffer inside the total that is deliberately not assigned in advance.

All seven cost lines

Every amount keeps its own scope. Shared-cost rows are already expressed as one person's share when two travellers book together.

Driver + vehicleThe largest cost line. Includes the Altyn Arashan UAZ leg; compare one complete route quote rather than isolated day rates.
€700–900per person, based on two sharing
AccommodationYurts, guesthouses and two hotels in this route model; confirm room type and which meals each stay includes.
€280–420per person, based on two sharing
Food + drinksAllowance for extra meals and drinks beyond anything included with accommodation.
€80–140per person
Route activitiesHorse riding, Kel-Suu boat, eagle-hunter visit and hot springs within one category range.
€80–160per person
Kel-Suu border-zone permitPrice basis: August 2025. Reconfirm the current requirement, fee and lead time.
€15–25per person

What moves the range

Three decisions matter more than small daily savings

Resolve the high-impact assumptions before fine-tuning meals or souvenirs.

  1. 1

    Normalize the transport quote

The driver and vehicle dominate the budget. Ask for the same route, dates, traveller count and UAZ handoff before comparing suppliers.

    Review the largest cost line
  2. 2

    Compare inclusions, not only totals

Meals, room types, baggage and activity equipment can move costs between categories without changing the headline quote.

    Check what the model includes
  3. 3

    Requote every dated item

The figures use a August 2025 price basis. Permit, flight, activity and accommodation pricing can all change independently.

Cash on the remote route

Liquidity is not another cost category

The cash reserve supports remote spending when cards or ATMs cannot be assumed. It overlaps with budgeted, non-prepaid costs and must not be added automatically to the euro total.

Scope boundary

Know what the headline range does—and does not—cover

Use this boundary when comparing the model with a supplier quote or your own spreadsheet.

Inside the €1,275–1,865 range

  • Driver and vehicle share for two travellers, including the UAZ leg
  • Accommodation, food and activity allowances shown in the breakdown
  • Kel-Suu permit estimate and the domestic Bishkek–Osh return flight
  • A €60–100 contingency already held inside the total

Outside the range

  • International flights to and from Kyrgyzstan
  • Travel insurance, personal equipment and passport-specific documentation costs
  • Single supplements, upgrades, souvenirs and other personal purchases
  • Supplier and exchange-rate changes after August 2025

Before money changes hands

Turn the estimate into a comparable booking file

Keep the critical assumptions in writing so a lower quote does not hide a missing route component.

  1. 1

    Before requesting quotes

    Send one fixed route brief

Use the same fourteen days, overnight stops, traveller count, Osh flight day, Kel-Suu access and Altyn Arashan UAZ handoff for every supplier.

  2. 2

    Before paying deposits

    Record price, currency and inclusions

Confirm what covers fuel, driver expenses, room and meal basis, permits, activities, baggage, cancellation and payment fees.

  3. 3

    On arrival in Bishkek

    Separate route cash from contingency

Withdraw enough som for remote legs, keep the party reserve available and track actual spend against the same seven categories.

Do not extrapolate this model blindly

Solo travel, groups of three or more, private-room upgrades and a different route require new quotes. Driver, vehicle and accommodation costs do not scale reliably by multiplying this per-person figure.

Continue planning

Connect the numbers to the route

Use the operational pages to validate timing, cash and each supplier quote.
